About Us
Join us in the joy of singing together!
Our Story
Long Ashton Community Choir has been running since May 2022. From a starting membership of 25 people, we now have 30-40 regularly attending the choir.
We are a no-audition choir and everyone who wants to sing is welcome to join us and can try us out in a free taster session.
We are led by Fran Bolton, a professional choir leader who is an inspiration. Her energy is captivating and as more than one member of the choir has said the termly subscription is worth it just to watch her work! We sing a range of songs, folk, world, contemporary and classical pieces, all executed in a four-part harmony.
There is no need to be able to read music as the parts are taught by ear during the choir sessions. We are honestly amazed at how quickly we can learn our parts and put them together so that it sounds good. All down to the marvellous Fran Bolton we think.
Where and When
We meet weekly over six terms in the year, corresponding to school terms, each one usually 6 weeks duration.
We ask members to pay £40 per term but we have a commitment to be inclusive and reduced rates or flexible payments are offered to those who might not be able to join us otherwise.
Our goal is to bring people together to enjoy the benefits (and there are many) of singing. We meet on a Monday evening 7.30-9pm in Keedwell Church Hall, Long Ashton.
